Alex and Nick were married at the Royal Oak Farmers Market. We always love when couples marry in unconventional locations. It’s make the day a lot of fun and their photos come out with a lot of uniqueness!

Alex and Nick have a SUPER adorable daughter named Ava. She is so precious and was a very special part of their day. She made such a cute flower girl and they even dedicated a special section of their ceremony to her.

‘First Looks’ are a pretty common thing for brides and grooms today. Couples really enjoy the idea of getting a few moments during the craziness of the day to enjoy each other’s company in private. Alex and Nick both said the First Look was their favorite part of their special day.

From the groom: “My favorite part was seeing my wife for our first look before the ceremony…I liked getting to do our vows beforehand and have a special moment between the two of us.

From the bride: “I loved it all! Being surrounded by our friends and family was amazing…I loved our first look and getting to just be us by ourselves and really enjoy the moment..”

Alex made such a gorgeous bride. Her keyhole Alessandra Bridal lace dress was stunning! Her bouquet was an incredibly beautiful arrangement of dahlias, mums, amaranths, dusty miller, and more. Her coordinating fresh floral headpiece really brought the whole entire look together.

A totally romantic and gush-worthy moment happened when Nick surprised Alex during cocktail hour with a song he wrote to her and played in front of all the guests on his guitar. It was such a loving and emotional moment, we even had tears in our eyes!

Who knew that an urban style farmers market building could be transformed into a totally rad reception venue?! Alex and Nick even included a Mexican-style food truck from Detroit inside the venue and had smokers outside cooking delicious barbecue!

Michelle was such a gorgeous bride! Her subtle sparkling details lended themselves perfectly to her sheath and classic lace dress. Her unique green bouquet was the perfect compliment to it all.

Michelle and Mike both said that their favorite part of the day was during their ‘First Look.’

From the Bride: “My favorite moment was when I saw my future husband. We did a sneak peek and as I walked down the stairs at the Henry Ford Museum, I could see him standing in front of me. It was so exciting when he turned around and I LOVED having a few minutes where it was just the two of us before the ceremony and reception.

From the Groom: “Hard to choose a favorite, but seeing her for the first time was my favorite part (yes I cried!) Also seeing her mom happy and the rest of the family too was amazing!”

The Henry Ford Museum is such a fun location for a Bride and Groom to have their ceremony and reception at because the historical museum actually allows wedding parties to venture through their exhibits and photograph next to the variety of displays.

We had a ton of fun with Michelle and Mike’s group!

Courtney, the bride, actually works at the Loveless Cafe and Barn. We had a perfect day and gorgeous fall colors that really popped with the dark colors that the Courtney and Josh incorporated into their wedding party’s attire and the overall theme of their decor.

Courtney and Josh both come from a family of musicians. Using an acoustic guitar for their guestbook was such a fun and personal touch they included at their reception.

2016-02-09_0007

Having a live band was very important to Courtney and Josh since they and their families are all very involved in music. Both the bride and groom’s sisters sang a song for all the guests on stage and the band even invited Josh on stage to show off his drumming skills.

2016-02-09_0008

From the bride, describing her favorite part of the big day:

“Our last dance, which the band surprised us with my favorite song “Turning Page” by Sleeping at Last. As we started dancing, we looked up, and saw all our friends and family forming a large circle around us.”

Jake+ Rachael- Lansing, Michigan Wedding

It was a brisk but beautiful day on January 2, 2016 when Rachael and Jake were married.

Schisler_0002

Rachael has such a spunky and fun personality, it was a blast spending time with her and her girls getting ready in the morning. From the fun custom “Team Bride” tank tops to Rachael’s adorable puppy sticking around the group the whole time, there was a lot of joy and fun had inside the house. The beautiful blue bridesmaid dresses really went well with Rachael’s winter theme and tied in perfectly with her colors.

Rachael and Jake’s reception was held at the Kellogg Hotel & Conference Center in Lansing, a gorgeous venue for weddings. Their winter theme certainly continued throughout their reception decor, with white and blue being the dominant colors. We loved the beautiful cake adorned with cupcakes decorated with beautiful snowflake and ‘love’ word designs.reception

The love that Rachael and Jake have for each other was so apparent and beautiful to see throughout the day. It’s such a good feeling to witness and capture those special moments during the reception as well. From the heartfelt toasts to the emotional first dances, the love between family, friends and especially the bride and groom is so apparent.

Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Schisler! It was a blast and an honor to capture your special day!

2015 End Cap {Michigan Wedding Photographer}

2015 has been an amazing year.  We have photographed so many Metro Detroit Weddings and traveled too!  Some of our favorite destinations were Traverse City, Petoskey, Charlotte, NC and Nashville, TN.

As always, we want to thank all of our 2015 newlyweds for allowing us to capture these memories.  We are hoping that during our “slow” season we are able to get some of the full weddings blogged.  But for now, here are all of our couples!

Cheers and Happy New Year!
